Faroe Islands have drawn their way through the group so far
Faroe Islands have not lost a Group C3 fixture, but they have not won one either. They drew 1-1 at home to Kazakhstan on 26 September, then drew 1-1 away at Moldova three days later. Before that, in March, they drew 1-1 away to San Marino in a friendly. No fresh injury or suspension concerns have been reported for the squad, and head coach Klakstein looks set to stick with much of the same side, with Adrian Justinussen leading the line.
Slovakia arrive top of the group
Slovakia have won both their Group C3 matches: 2-0 at home to Moldova on 26 September, then 2-1 against Kazakhstan on 29 September. It continues a decent run through the year. They beat Romania 2-0 and Malta 2-1 in June friendlies, drew 2-2 with Montenegro, and lost 4-3 to Kosovo in World Cup qualifying back in March. Vladimír Weiss has his side playing with more control than that qualifying defeat suggested, and no significant injury news has emerged from the camp this week.
Where that leaves Group C3
Two rounds in, Slovakia have six points from two wins and Faroe Islands have two from their pair of draws. A Slovakia win in Tórshavn would put real daylight between the sides with three rounds still to play. A Faroe Islands win, or even another draw, keeps the group tight and gives the home side their first win of the campaign at the second time of asking.
