What time is kick-off for Sunderland vs Fulham?

Sunderland vs Fulham kicks off at 14:00 BST on Sunday, 30 August 2026, at the Stadium of Light in Sunderland. Full details on the fixture are on the Sunderland vs Fulham match page.

Team news

Sunderland are without winger Simon Adingra, who is facing around six weeks out with an ankle injury. New signing Dayann Methalie, a £25.6m arrival from Toulouse, is available but will miss out through a one-match suspension carried over from his time in France. Omar Alderete is back in the squad after returning from Paraguay's World Cup campaign, where he picked up a knock in the last 16.

Fulham are missing midfielder Tom Cairney, who had surgery on a minor knee injury earlier this month and isn't expected back until after the September international break. Nordi Mukiele is fit again and is in line to replace Thomas Meunier at right-back. New arrival Jules Ahoka, signed from Royal Antwerp, is available for selection but may have to settle for a place on the bench.

Sunderland and Fulham head-to-head and recent form

There's no meeting between Sunderland and Fulham in our match archive, so recent results are the clearest guide to this one.

Sunderland's only competitive match so far this season was the 2-1 defeat at Ipswich Town on 22 August. Before that, their pre-season programme brought wins over Stade Rennais (2-1), RC Lens (2-0) and Wrexham (1-0), and defeats to Leeds United (1-0) and Liverpool (4-2). Their last Premier League fixture before this season, back on 24 May, was a 2-1 home win over Chelsea.

Fulham have played two competitive matches since the season started: a 3-0 win over AFC Wimbledon in the EFL Cup on 27 August, and a 3-2 home defeat to Chelsea in the Premier League three days before that. In pre-season they beat VfB Stuttgart 1-0, drew 2-2 with Málaga and drew 1-1 with Al-Ahli.

Sunderland vs Fulham prediction

Fulham are the pick to beat Sunderland in this Premier League meeting at the Stadium of Light. Sunderland have conceded in each of their last two competitive matches in our archive, including the loss at Ipswich Town, and now do so without Adingra available. Fulham shipped three at home to Chelsea but responded well with the 3-0 EFL Cup win in midweek, and with no head-to-head record between these clubs to weigh against it, current form is the deciding factor.

Our prediction: Sunderland 1-2 Fulham
