Fulham host Manchester United at Craven Cottage on Sunday 20 September 2026 - kick-off, team news and our Premier League score prediction.

This preview goes instead on how each side actually arrives at Sunday's game.

  • Fixture: Fulham vs Manchester United
  • Competition: Premier League
  • Date: Sunday 20 September 2026
  • Kick-off: 16:30 BST
  • Venue: Craven Cottage, London

Fulham's home form has been the problem

Fulham have taken one point from their opening four Premier League matches this season, a 0-0 draw at Liverpool, and lost the other three. The two that matter most for Sunday were both at Craven Cottage: a 2-3 defeat to Chelsea and a 2-3 defeat to Crystal Palace, conceding three goals in front of their own crowd both times. A 1-0 loss at Sunderland completes the league run. Fulham have looked more like themselves in the EFL Cup, beating AFC Wimbledon 3-0 and then West Ham United 3-2 away, but neither of those results changes what their league form says.

Manchester United's away trips have been shaky too

United's Premier League form is mixed rather than bad. They opened with a 2-0 defeat at Hull City, then beat Ipswich Town 5-2 at home, drew 2-2 at Everton and lost 0-1 to Manchester City. Away from home specifically, that's one point from two matches and just two goals scored. In the cups, United thrashed Sabah FK 4-0 in the Champions League but went out of the EFL Cup, beaten 2-3 by Brighton & Hove Albion in midweek. Neither side travels into this one on a clean run.

Team news

Fulham's new head coach Alvaro Arbeloa, who succeeded Marco Silva earlier this year, is without Tom Cairney, who remains out following knee surgery. Ryan Sessegnon is a doubt with a groin problem.

Manchester United, now under permanent manager Michael Carrick, remain without Matthijs de Ligt (back) and Manuel Ugarte (cruciate ligament). Amad Diallo has a chance of returning after a knock, Patrick Dorgu is back in contention having missed the Carabao Cup squad, and Carlos Baleba is on course to make his United debut now the international break has passed. Luke Shaw isn't expected back until the trip to Tottenham Hotspur in October.

Fulham vs Manchester United prediction

Manchester United should beat Fulham in this Premier League meeting at Craven Cottage. Fulham have won once from five competitive matches this season and have conceded three goals in each of their two home league games, while United, for all their own inconsistency, have shown they can score goals in bunches when the game opens up. Neither defence has been convincing, which points to goals at both ends rather than a shutout.

Our prediction: Fulham 1-2 Manchester United
